Jeff Madsen Latest Former WSOP POY to Earn Gold in 2013

It's been another wild week at the 2013 World Series of Poker, with 13 more bracelets being won over the last seven days of play. Another former WSOP Player of the Year won a bracelet as Jeff Madsen earned his third career title. Players from Bulgaria, Hungary, and Russia took away some hardware with victories. And players from Canada continued to do well, earning two more bracelets to bring the country's overall total to nine.

Here's a rundown of how last week's events finished up with a few highlights from each.

The 2013 World Series of Poker is fast approaching the halfway mark with the Main Event now only a couple of weeks away. Event No. 28: Duval takes it down

This event -- another $1,500 no-limit hold'em affair -- saw Jason Duval make it a remarkable seven bracelets for Canada out of the first 28 events, well above the country's total of three in 2012 and a remarkable percentage (25%) of wins not halfway through the Series. Masayuki Nagata notched a best finish thus far for Japan by taking third in the event.

Event No. 29: Schneider sweeps H.O.R.S.E. events

Greg Mueller nearly made it another win for Canada in the $5K H.O.R.S.E. event, but he was denied as Tom Schneider earned his second bracelet of the summer just a week after taking his first in the only other H.O.R.S.E. event, the $1,500 buy-in Event No. 15.

Schneider picked up his seventh cash of the summer last night, by the way, and his success is inspiring a lot of table talk about the WSOP Player of Year race. He currently sits in second behind Daniel Negreanu in that race, with both players having earned WSOP POY honors before (Negreanu in 2004 and Schneider in 2007). Schneider now has four career WSOP bracelets.

Speaking of countries breaking through, Australia finally picked up a bracelet at this year's WSOP after claiming just one earlier in the year at the WSOP APAC as Jarred Graham won the $1,500 PLO Hi-Low title. Graham started the last day 14th of 14, but managed to come all of the way back to defeat Marco Johnson heads-up to win. Barry Greenstein just missed earning a fourth career bracelet as he was eliminated in third.

9th: Perry Green (United States) -- $18,233

Event No. 32: E-Dog Captures Second

Erick Lindgren added a nice follow-up to his second-place finish at the WPT Championship last month by winning his second career WSOP bracelet last night in the $5K short-handed NLHE event, his first having come back in 2008. Lindgren beat a field of top-level players in this one, likely one of the tougher NLHE tourneys to crack at this summer's WSOP. Jonathan Little took the chip lead into Day 3 before finishing third, while Lee Markholt battled gamely to take runner-up. Andrew Robl (7th) bubbled the final table, with Allen Bari (9th) and Dan Smith (11th) also among those coming one table shy of the last one.

Bach had ended both Day 1 and Day 2 as the chip leader, but it was Campanello who finished the last day in front to get back a $178,052 return on his $2,500 buy-in. A total of 301 played the razz event, just under the 309 who played it a year ago when Phil Hellmuth won.

Matusow, Schneider Among Repeat Winners at 2013 WSOP

Another week is done at the 2013 World Series of Poker, and 10 more WSOP bracelets have been claimed as the Series continues to march along. This week was highlighted by a couple of players -- Mike Matusow and Tom Schneider -- grabbing some gold again several years after winning previous WSOP events, with other former bracelet winners also proving victorious. Also, Canada continues to impress, picking up two more wins to push the country's bracelet total to six.

Here's a rundown of all of the results over the past week of WSOP action from the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
