Although I had planned to be able to fill this week's blog with lots of poker related stories I have not really played enough over the past seven days to warrant that to be honest, thanks in part to having lots of visitors over at my place that I had to entertain including my good friend Antonio Esfandiari.
We had some really good nights actually and one in particular was hilarious and involved me not so hilariously burning a hole in my jacket, someone burning their face and the waiters wrapping him in towels!
Antonio had flown over from the States to play in a tournament being held on the London Eye so he was staying with me. This meant we went out most nights, not clubbing all the time but to bars and restaurants and we even went to the cinema. We planned to watch Seeking Justice but it turned out it wasn't released yet, which was tilting, so we watched Immortals instead. The film isn't bad but it isn't great really so I'd recommend waiting for it to come out on DVD rather than going to the cinema to see it.
We had some really good nights actually and one in particular was hilarious and involved me not so hilariously burning a hole in my jacket, someone burning their face and the waiters wrapping him in towels! But that will have to wait until another blog because Antonio captured it all on video and I am waiting for him to upload it so I can share it with you guys!
Now that Antonio has gone back home I will probably be able to play a lot of poker because whilst he is here is is like my naughty little brother and is very persuasive indeed and I always end up giving in to him and going out! I have spent some time going through my Holdem Manager database but I doubt that will interest you because it is all stats and figures, which are never fun!
This wouldn't be my blog if it did not have something about food in it so here is the Tabby food section! You may recall I was looking into potentially starting my own gourmet hotdog business, well I now want to start my own health food café so I have been researching raw foods and stuff like that and it is pretty interesting. I also went down to watch Masterchef down in Earls Court and that was quite good fun actually, especially the wine tasting stall where you could just pour yourself glasses of wine from a selection of over 300 so you can imagine how that went, it was really good fun.
I have also been invited to a truffle tasting weekend which should be great. I have a friend who has a restaurant here and his brother is bringing over some truffles from Alba, which are the best truffles you can get in Italy and when they arrive he is going to make us eight to ten different dishes with the truffles with the appropriate truffle wine!
Last but not least the growth on my face! We are now 24 days into Movember and I finally have a moustache, it looks like a caterpillar on my top lip, so now it has grown it is time to really make a push in the money raising stakes. On that note, a big thank you to everyone who has donated so far and a huge thank you to Barry Woods who kindly donated £500 to this great cause.
I think I will leave it there for now, click here to donate to my Movember cause, don't forget to tune in to my radio show every Wednesday and until next time, goodbye!
