"torrance s" can be found at the $2.5-$5 No Limit tables on Betfair when he is not winning golf tournaments - check out his latest blog post...

I have been playing every night at the $2.5-$5 level. I tend to try and stay as long as I can to see how I can do. I don't try and aim for a figure I want to make I just try and play each hand the best I can.

I was playing the other day 2.5/5 HU and got KK in the first hand - the other guy had pocket aces so I lost that one but managed to claw it all back which was rather satisfying.

I haven't really had the time to play any tourneys because it really requires 5 hours or so of spare time. I am going to play the $20k GTD tonight as Betfair have kindly put me in - hoping for a large cash to boost the bankroll.

I have been in St Andrews over the last few days making an infomercial for the new K1 Fast Driver. You probably didn't know that last year's version sold more than any other driver in the country - the K1 Speed. The new one is a really special club and I would definitely recommend it.

I get asked about golf quite a bit in the chat boxes - the usual is people wanting to know who is going to win this week etc. Some people call me a fish but on the whole everyone on Betfair has been really nice and can't believe it is me playing.

I get to know the players at 2.5/5 so I haven't gone any higher.

I am playing the Seniors Tour Championship at the Bucks next week but I will probably still play a bit online - keep an eye out for me "torrance s" and say hello.

Poker takes experience to learn and I am getting a lot better. I have been drastically cutting down the % of flops that I see. I kept finding myself in hands that I should never have been in and paying the blinds all adds up.

I am playing right now actually and just lost a big pot with AK on a flop of 68K - the guy pushed all in on the flop and his KQ rivered a queen.

I have also been playing only one table recently so that I can concentrate more on what I am doing and I am trying to be more patient. I don't have any strict rules for my bankroll but I do try and stop when the cards aren't going my way.

OH - just flopped three of a kind 44.

I had to bet the turn heavily because there was a straight draw and a flush draw out there - won a $140 pot.

AAARGH - Sorry to give you a bad beat story but I just flopped a full house to get beaten by a better full house - but I am sure you have all heard that one before.

Anyway - I will update you again soon - see you at the tables,

Sam

Sounds like you are taking the game seriously. That is good! You cant win consistently unless you are willing to try and get better and better. Have you ever read Brian Townsend's blog? (cardrunners.com) Very interesting! - all about how he's constantly striving to be better.

Hey, Sam, good to see an update on the blog.

Can you ask Betfair to make a proper RSS/Atom feed for your blog so that I don't have to remember to check it manually all the time?

    Good luck at the tables!
