Riding a heater!

After a couple of month of running like what can only be described as dog shit, I am pleased to report that I am now on some sort of heater, running hotter than the sun and loving playing poker!
Rossi left a comment in my last post saying he was trying to forget about volume and stats for this month and simply just playing poker and letting the rest take care of itself. I have a lot of respect for Rossi and have followed his blog since conception so thought to myself, why not follow suit and just enjoy playing? At least then I cannot fail another challenge!
I started off the month by recording a nice $40 plus change profit from just over 1,000 hands of 6-max NL10 but I quickly became bored of the grind. Normally, I would carry on grinding away but I decided to take a slight deviation from my usual cash games and hit some short-handed sit and gos.
Whilst they are far from my strongest game, the short-handed SnG are well known for being quite soft as a lot of the better grinders flock to the full ring games as they are easier to multitable. Another blogger, Amatay, had a great run at the $33 games and I threw caution to the wind and sat down at four of the $11 games and after 28 games, I had an ROI of 32% and $100 in profit! Kerching! I also had an addition to my roll, from a business venture, that has put me in a position that I did not expect to be in until early 2009.
I have always wanted to either play heads-up cash or Pot-limit Omaha as my main game but due to bankroll requirements I have never been able to play any stakes comfortably and therefore not at my best. Now that I am in a much better position bankroll-wise, I can start playing what I want in the knowledge I have very little chance of going busto. I love PLO but I really do not have enough time to learn a new game from scratch so it looks like I will be hitting the HU cash games and maybe some HUSNG thrown in.
Heads-up is a favourite of mine and I never get bored of playing it, although the swings can be horrific if you are on the wrong side of variance. I speak to Cadmunkey a lot via MSN and text and we both think that HU cash could be the way to go as it seems to be becoming more popular on most sites, with new fish swimming in the seas. I suppose I want my share before the sharks swallow them up! I could probably play NL25 if I was being aggressive with my roll but I will almost certainly start at NL10 and learn from my mistakes cheaper! Although, I am currently clearing a bonus whihc clears quicker through tournies than cash so may have to play HUSNG or something.
In other news, I have left the admin team of Raise The River but on good terms, which is always good. I simply do not have the time right now, nor will I in the coming months, to dedicate to the RTR cause. I thought it would be best to resign and let them have the chance to find a replacement rather than wait until everything got on top of me, me quit and leave them in the proverbial. I will definitely still be posting there as I have made some great friends during my time there.
I think I will leave it there for now. In my next post I hope to have some interesting hands to post along with an insane graph that shows me owning the micro heads-up fishes!
Until next time, thanks for reading and best of luck at the tables!

Hi Pud,
I've just had a look back at my blog to see if I've had any comments and saw you left me a while ago asking if I've consideres coming back to the poker/blogging scene.
I have thought about it and did play small stakes for a few weeks with dyer results, I didn't take it seriously as it was just small change. I'm still doing a course atm and will be until next summer, it won't be until then that i start playing seriously again if I do decide to play.
Thanks for the concern, and good luck.
