Just 400 hands later and I had busted this $20 after losing five buy-ins at $0.02/$0.04, yes I suck at poker! I've never experienced anything like it in my entire life, the RNG was on fire!
Let me start off by apologising for the lack of updates over the past week or so, I really don't know what happened. I had a really unproductive week where I got bugger all done and then my Scouser mate, the former landlord of the pub I used to live in, came to stop for a few days before he jets off to the US which threw me out a lot, mainly due to cider being consumed in large quantities!
I'm now back on track and ready and raring to go, despite having a horrendous micro session on Friday night. Basically, I received an email from a site I've not played on in like forever, informing me I had $20 and change in my account so I decided to download the software and play some micro-stakes.
Just 400 hands later and I had busted this $20 after losing five buy-ins at $0.02/$0.04, yes I suck at poker! I've never experienced anything like it in my entire life, the RNG was on fire! I lost a stack right from the off when I managed to river the nut flush but lost to a badly played rivered full-house, then had Aces cracked by Kings, quickly followed by JJ losing to AA on a Jack-high flop. It was unbelievable.
Having logged off I went downstairs to moan to Mrs P and my mate about how I hate poker sometimes and after receiving no sympathy, decided to go back up to the computer for another session. However, I managed to forget I had a glass of red wine on my desk and when I went to turn the monitor on I knocked it over, spilling claret everywhere including the cream carpet and curtains. Luckily the computer survived though!
After mopping up the vino with what seemed an entire roll of kitchen roll, Baby Pud woke up and wasn't in the best of moods. The little chunker is teething at the minute and not sleeping as he usually does, waking up all the time. Anyway,I went back downstairs whilst Mrs P sat and fed him whilst she checked her Facebook etc and then about 15 minutes later she sent me a text saying "Help, Projectile vomit"
I ran upstairs to find Baby Pud had thrown up everywhere and this time the computer didn't get away with it, instead the keyboard took the brunt of the spew and I spent the next twenty minutes taking keys off to find milky, slimy sick from under them! Great end to the day.
As the title suggests, I am going to play some live poker tonight and I honestly can't wait. I've not played live for ages and I always thoroughly enjoy it when I do and always vow to play live more often afterwards but never do. It's only a £5 tournament with 5k starting stack and blinds at 25/50 but the casino has added £500 to the prizepool so it should be a good turnout and semi-decent prizes on offer. Depending on how things are going I might have to do some live Twittering so follow me and read about my donkish antics!
In other news, the Pud Jr situation has become much better and less stressful after a big clear-the-air talk with his grandma (from his mum's side). I'm actually quite bad at discussing personal things face-to-face, preferring to use texts instead but on this particular occasion I felt I had to say something rather than write it.
Without going into too much detail, Pud Jr told me something his mum had said to him which upset me so I quizzed his grandma about it. After a little bit of negativity from both sides we had a really good chat where I learned things about the situation from their side whilst his grandma learned a few things about my perspective of things. After this chat it became abundantly clear that a lack of communication didn't help matters and the whole thing could probably have been avoided really.
I am all ready to start injecting Pud Jr with his insulin but he's having none of it right now, but I'm not going to push him as I know how much hard work went into getting him to allow other people to do it for him and I don't want to derail all that. We have made progress now though as he usually likes to be in the room by himself when he's being injected but he's letting me watch and even choose places for his grandma to inject which is all good. Hopefully by the new year he'll be confident in me to administer his drugs and we can get back to how things were in the past.
I think I'll leave it there for now as this post has dragged on a little. I'll update more regularly this month as I am sure you're all dying to read about me crushing NL4 and moving up to NL10. It's a hard life being pond life but someone has to do it!
As always, thanks for reading and best of luck at the tables!
