Since my last post, I have been on the wrong end of some life variance once again and I have been feeling a little bit sorry for myself if I am honest.

First thing that happened was my bloody computer died for the second time in a matter of months. Everything was running perfectly around midnight on Friday but when I came to use it on Saturday morning something was seriously wrong. I got an error message saying Windows had failed to load and to try load it from the last known good setting, which I did. After the reboot I got the same message again and no matter what I did, I got the same message. FFS!

After restoring the factory defaults and getting my machine to work, I realised I had lost everything on the hard drive, which felt very similar to when you hit your straight on the river but it completes someone's flush. Pisser. Thankfully, I save all my Betfair stuff on a memory stick and got my Hold'em Manager back but I did lose Microsoft Office. In a turn of good fortune, I was pointed to OpenOffice which IMO is a far better than the packaged stuff Microsoft force upon us and best of all it is free. I am not sure if I should be pimping sites out on here but whatever!

My second stroke of bad luck was some dickhead decided to put a deep gouge from the back door to the front bumper on my car! Mrs P and I have a very good idea who it was but, of course, cannot prove it to do anything about it. If it was a new motor I would have been really narked off but it's an "N" reg so is 12-years old and has tons of dents and scratches so this one kind of blends in!

Rather than have the phantom scratcher come back and put a window through, slash a tyre, pinch a wing mirror or piss on the sunroof, I have been parking the car a few streets away, well I was until today. The cul-de-sac I have been parking on seems pretty quiet and when I scoped it out, at around 2300, there were loads of spaces for cars so I would not have caused any problems.

All has been well until I went to my car this morning to find a note on my windscreen stating in capitals "YOU ARE CAUSING AN OBSTRUCTION PARKING ON THIS AVENUE PLEASE DO NOT PARK HERE." Jesus H Christ! People are so petty. I could understand if I was blocking pavements etc but I was simply parked on a road that I pay road tax on. Anyway, rather than feel the wrath of a 68-year old Victor Meldrew wannabe, I have shifted my car once again!

On a more positive note, we went for the second of out 20-week scans and baby Pud is developing fine and all is ok with his face and heart although the women performing the scan struggled once again as the awkward little sod would not take his hands away from his chest for her to check the chambers of his heart properly! We are looking at the possibility of getting one of those freaky 4D scans as a Christmas pressie so if anyone knows of anywhere with good rates leave me a comment!

Since this is meant to primarily a poker blog, I thought it would be an idea to post a hand I played the other day! I have been trying to get back into cash games and short-handed in particular went very well! I think the hand goes to show why micro-stakes could be very profitable, but also on the flipside, why they are also very high variance as fish call you down with anything. I mean, what did this guy think I had? Does he think I am shoving AJ or 22-99? LMAO!

On that note, I'll thank you, for reading, as always, and wish you the best of luck at the tables!
