I hate premium hands!

Fold preflop. That's what I should do with big pocket pairs and other premium hands as it seems all I do lately is have them cracked. Obviously I know that is not the case but sometimes it really feels like you just can't get a hand to hold no matter what you try and do.

The problem with HUSNG is that they take a lot out of you mentally as you are involved in every single hand and you're often trying to play the player and not your hand meaning you need more concentration for longer periods of time.

Until Friday I hadn't played an MTT for what seemed like an age. In fact the last time I played any sort of MTT was when I had my back to back "wins" totalling around $800. Since then I have been on a bit of a rollercoaster in terms of my bankroll but lately, as you readers know, I've been grinding HUSNG.

The problem with HUSNG is that they take a lot out of you mentally as you are involved in every single hand and you're often trying to play the player and not your hand meaning you need more concentration for longer periods of time. They say a change is as good as a rest so I decided to play a few MTTs to break up the monotony of the grind.

Since I blog on Betfair I thought it would be best to try and qualify for the Free Million Dollar Game so on Friday at 1945 I took my seat in the UK freeroll along with around 200 others I believe maybe more but I'm not 100% sure. However, my dreams of making the final were soon dashed when I managed to run QQ into KK on a ten-high board to bust after the third blind level.

Not to worry as I had registered for the $3k guarantee with a $22 buy-in whilst the freeroll was running. My starting table was weak to say the least and I was soon up to 4.5k and I started thinking about what I could spend the $900 first prize on! After a quick brag-tweet on Twitter the Poker Gods (amen) decided brags are not allowed and made me spew off all my chips within three hands!

Firstly I had the bright idea to triple barrel bluff a guy who was obviously retarded as he thought his T4o was good on a board reading TJA75, either that or he had a soul read that I had King-nine, who knows. This dropped me to around 15BB so when I was dealt As Js I decided to shove and I scooped the blinds. Very next hand I was UTG and saw Ac Kc so shoved again hoping the fish would think I was tilting, unfortunately someone did call, the big blind who was dealt aces. No epic suckout for me and I go home early again. Rather than tilt away my roll I went to blow up buildings in Red Faction: Guerilla!

Last night I entered two tournaments, one a $1.10 rebuy with a $500 guarantee despite it only having 36 runners and a $5.50 deepstack game with $2k added to the already decent prizepool thanks to the 1,529 registered players. With over $1.8k FTW I was pretty excited to say the least.

Excitement turned to despair on the very first hand when I saw AA in the big blind and raised a MP raiser and three callers to 400, which was slightly more than pot-sized. MP then instantly shoves causing the rest to fold. I obviously call and am delighted to see King-queen of spades but horrified when I see the flop JsTs9s for a flopped straight flush! FML! Well done Pud for finishing 1525/1529! I instantly logged off and managed to finish 21/36 in the rebuy despite being in the bath, sorting the kids out for an hour and half and only playing six hands in it!

I'm hoping for better luck tomorrow as I am in court to get Parental Responsibility for Pud Jr along with some proper unsupervised access. There is no reason for the judge to not give me what I want and I hope he or she sees Pud Jr's mum for what she is and lets her know that too. I'd still appreciate some crossed fingers please at around 1400 though as these things have a habit of going belly up.

Jesus, a post from Pud actually about poker! How about that! I'll probably post tomorrow afternoon or evening to update on the court case but if not I will definitely post on Wednesday morning. Here's hoping I don't get rivered eh?

As always, thanks for reading and best of luck at the tables!
