You may recall that I had been staked for three of the $55 WSOPE (more...) qualifiers on Betfair and that I had played one with no success. Well, over the past couple of days I have played a further three games with mixed fortunes.
On Thursday, I played another one of the $55 and to cut a long story short I busted in 7th with six seats being awarded! Luckily for me, 7th place paid out $300 which helped to soften the blow of not winning a seat. My exit hand, in hindsight, was avoidable but we live and learn I suppose. I basically shoved 88 over the top of an EP raiser and he called with a pair of queens and I could not suckout.
I played another on Friday but never really got going and busted out in 19th place. I paid for the final game myself, as my backer was kind enough to not request his stake back, allowing me to add my winnings into my bankroll. Again, I am a bit miffed how I busted as it was very avoidable.
In a blind vs blind confrontation I raised with Kh2h and was min-raised by the BB, who I had been stealing from like crazy. Flop comes 5s 7c Kd and I lead out 1,000 only for the guy to raise it to 2,400. For some reason I got it into my head that he was making a play at me and shoved on him, only for him to insta-call with a set of sevens. I just did not listen to what the betting was telling me. I am a donkey!
So that is my WSOPE over for this year. I really wish I had tried more satellites earlier in the year as the standard of play was absolutely ridiculous. Whilst gutted I will not be playing in the 21 seat guaranteed game on Sunday 7 September, I can console myself with the fact I am not properly bankrolled for NL20 and NL25 and should now be able to start making some semi-decent money.
I will finish this post by wishing anyone playing in the WSOPE Mega Satellite tonight the very best of luck. I wish I was there with you.
As always, thanks for reading and good luck at the tables.

That bubble must have had you steaming!
Good luck with the NL25 - you still playing 6-max - as I've just moved onto them.
