So who is going to win the WSOP? And would you bet on the outcome?
Welcome to the 39th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.
Wager on the satellite events if you must but all the real action is on Event 54, the Main Event, the $10,000 buy-in World Championship of No-Limit Texas Hold 'em.
The field for the WSOP is huge. And know that no professional poker player of note has won the Main Event since 200.
Place your bets. Leave your brain at the door.
Few bookmakers are offering any kind of odds, mostly because they realise how few people will make a bet this early on.
One US bookmaker is offering odds, and the lowest price on any individual reaching the Final Table is 100/1.
You can get a century price on 1987 and 1988 Main Event champion Johnny Chan, 1989 winner Phil Hellmuth and 2001 champ Carlos Mortensen, Gus Hansen, Daniel Negreanu and Allen Cunningham.
To show just how random these odds are, Stan James has Hellmuth on 200-1.
On one site, the favourite is five-bracelet laden Phil Ivey at 150-1. Why? Well, why not?
What of last year's winner Jerry Yang? Well, he out at 300/1 just to make the Final Table, offered at 50% less chance of winning than 2006 winner Jamie Gold on 200/1.
2005 winner Joe Hachem, and 2004 champoion Greg Raymer are each listed at 150/1. Chris Moneymaker, the 2003 title holder, lies on 200/1. Although, you can get 2000-1 on Moneymaker.
For you groupies, know that you can get 2000-1 on former EastEnders' whisperer Michael Greco winning, and £3000 on Ben Affleck coming up trumps.
