Smithy Zkittlez (Trap 6) - 18.33 Harlow
We head over to Harlow for our first selection on Wednesday evening, a maiden open over 415m, and on the back of a pair of luckless efforts, SMITHY ZKITTLEZ (Trap 6, 18.33) could well be the answer to a tricky puzzle. A very handy grader at Henlow when timing it right at the boxes, he met with early bother having broken better on his latest start over C&D seven days ago before keeping on well enough for third. His nearest rival Sparta Buzz has been hit-and-miss at the traps of late and lacks course knowledge, so we're hopeful of a swift break and, operating as the sole wide seed, he can quickly stamp his authority on tonight's contest.
Bumblebee Patsy (Trap 4) - 19.41 Sunderland
Sunderland's 19.41 is a pretty modest contest on balance but it could just pay to side with youngster BUMBLEBEE PATSY (Trap 4) to come out on top on just her second competitive start at the north east venue. A steady improver in trials, she had little go right on her competitive debut seven days ago, bad crowding at the third ruling out any late gains. However, early pace certainly rates her key attribute from trials and, eased a peg on the graded ladder in a race lacking depth, we're hopeful she can reach the opening corner in front this evening and be seen in a much better light.
Barnfield Helena (Trap 6) - 20.03 Harlow
BARNFIELD HELENA (Trap 6, 20.03) has quickly proved herself a force to be reckoned with at home track Yarmouth, landing four of her last five starts in A1 company and impressing again as she come out on top in emphatic style having her first crack at Harlow seven days ago where the tight circuit proved no barrier. Crowded on the run up on that occasion she can surely only build on that effort with track knowledge to call upon and, with the switch to the striped jacket holding no fears, all looks set fair for another big run.
