Hopefully the class-dropping Adams Fizzy (T1) can get us off to a flying start. A pacy type when on-song, she only ever really does just enough and her last two victories have come by narrow margins. However, she's often paid her way in A6 company and, having run well in the face of a stiff task last week, she can turn handy on the rails this afternoon and pounce on the pace-setters off the last bend.
Junior The Bear (Trap 3) - 13:59 Sheffield
Junior The Bear (T3) is fancied to bounce back and capitalise on the grader's mercy in this basement-grade contest over the standard 500-metre trip. Consistent in A7 company, he has essentially found winning at that level rather tough but the balance of his form stands up to close scrutiny in this field and, with one of his better exits from the boxes, he can get back on the scoresheet.
Mindhowyougo (Trap 3) - 20:12 Sunderland
Mindhowyougo (T3) gets our vote to land the first of the Arc Classic Semi-finals. Having only his third competitive outing since August in the heats last week, he showed plenty of his customary early dash before tiring late in the day. Still, that was an impressive effort on the sectional clock and a solid effort on final time. He's 1-1 in the white jacket over C&D, his latest effort ought to have blown the cobwebs away and we're hopeful he's lightning from the boxes again and can make all.
