Timeform Greyhound SmartPlays: Blue Tick George is coming to the boil nicely

Blackrock King (Trap 4, 15.44) has found sprinting more to his liking following a winless spell over 4 bends, adding a second career success to his tally in this grade back in June. To his credit, John Walton's charge has fared respectably in stronger events since, going down by ½ lengths in a good time for the grade 2 starts back. His recent exploits on the clock read well in the context of this afternoon's contest and granted a clear passage all looks set fair for a big run.

Salacres Hagar (Trap 6, 18.41) despite recently turning 2-y-o is still very much in the infancy of his career, opening his account 2 starts back and producing a better effort in defeat in this grade last time, again showing plenty of early dash. The son of Droopys Jet is open to further improvement moving forward and rates the likeliest leader out wide once more and may prove tough to peg back.

The Derby Trial Stakes also continue apace at Nottingham this evening and Blue Tick George (Trap 3, 20.36) is fancied to show the benefit of a solid C&D effort of late and come out on top. Bumping in to a red-hot Plaza Lep last time. The move off the rails in to the white jacket may well help him break that little bit sharper this evening and he can come out on top.
