Struggling Ipswich conceded seven goals in the space of four days last week. Can they stop the rot against Barnsley on Saturday?
Back Barnsley @ 2.35 to beat Ipswich; Back Oldham @ 1.8 to beat Yeovil; Back Bury @ 2.22 to beat Torquay; The Treble pays approximately 9.4
Lover of all things Multiple Andrew French has studied the three divisions immediately below the Premier League and suggest putting these three teams in a Betfair Multiple. The Treble pays approximately [9.4].
Leg 1: Barnsley at [2.35] to beat Ipswich
If there is something Roy Keane needs less than the dreaded 'vote of confidence' afforded him this week by Ipswich chief executive Simon Clegg, it's defeat at fellow strugglers Barnsley - but I think new boss Mark Robins may have got his side ticking over a little smoother than the Tractor Boys.
Aside from last weekend's 5-2 whipping at QPR, Robins has done well since taking over: seven points from five league games and a carling Cup win over Burnley. Ipswich are the only winless team in the Championship, and although they were denied victory in midweek by a late goal at Sheffield United, they still conceded three times, making it 22 in 10 league games. At a price around [2.35], I'd include Barnsley.
Leg 2: Oldham at [1.8] to beat Yeovil
Having made a slow start in League One, Oldham have marched up the table on the back of three straight wins, and I believe they will make it four out of four when Yeovil visit Boundary Park on Saturday. Last weekend's victory over MK Dons showed the Latics can mix it with the other likely promotion contenders. Yeovil have won just once in the league since the opening day of the season, and that was against badly out-of-form Brentford. Therefore, add in Oldham at [1.8].
Leg 3: Bury at [2.22] to beat Torquay
When you look at Bury's record in League Two it would be easy to think someone has swapped their home and away results over. The Shakers have lost four out of five at home - but won four of their five games on the road. It's that impressive away form that encourages me to back them this weekend, as they make the long trip to the south-west to face Torquay. The Gulls are having a miserable season and only troubled Darlington are keeping them off the foot of the table. Torquay have lost six of their last seven in the league - back Bury at [2.22] to extend their misery.
