Stephen Molyneux picks his way through the latest Meydan card, highlighting three bets.
"Genius Step is a sprinter on the upgrade and he can defy the handicapper in the very next race at 16:25."
Warsaw isn't getting any younger, and certainly comes with risks attached, but he has shaped like a non-stayer over further at Jebel Ali on his last two starts and is worth supporting in the 15:50. He was a class act in his time for Mike de Kock, winning a Carnival handicap back in February 2011, but he's had his problems since then, only racing three times in 2012/13. He does seem to be over those issues, however, this his seventh start of the season, and his last two have suggested he can take advantage of his much reduced mark. He was a big danger to Tiz Now Tiz Then on his penultimate start before tiring, and it was a similar story last week before not getting home behind Ennobled Friend. This drop to seven furlongs will be more to his liking and he should offer a bit of value.
Genius Step is a sprinter on the upgrade and he can defy the handicapper in the very next race at 16:25. This will just be his fourth start for the yard, and he has already won two of them, nosing out Innocuous in December (form worked out very well) and then comfortably winning after a break last time. He again hasn't had much luck with the draw but he overcame the same barrier for his latest success and whilst he's up 8 lb for that win, he has the class to complete the hat-trick.
Another horse on the upgrade, despite meeting with defeat last time, is Ducab and he can return to winning ways in the 17:00. He was an impressive winner on this surface on his penultimate start when quickening from a long way back to beat Representation, and similar tactics were employed when switched to turf last time, almost pulling them off before tiring late on. It was still a very good third placing behind Almoonqith and a reproduction of that form should be good enough to take this.
