Al Fahidi Fort: Timeform's runner-by-runner guide

Meydan hosts the Group 2 Al Fahidi Fort

Timeform run the rule over the field for the Group 2 Al Fahidi Fort at Meydan on Thursday.

"Musir is arguably the class act but is returning from a failed spell at stud and he may just need this..."

Don't Call Me won 2 competitive handicaps last year and as good as ever at Meydan this season, shaping well all 3 starts in some strong races. Well worth his place at this level and not out of it.

Mushreq needed reappearance and made up for luckless run when beating Royal Empire on penultimate start. Too far back when only sixth to Hunter's Light last time and a big player now back on turf.

Do It All has a patchy profile, returning to form when making all to win the Zabeel Mile last year. Well beaten otherwise, including on recent return, and likely to be used as a pacemaker here.

Master of Hounds was successful in Dubai and Turkey last year, also finishing third in this corresponding event behind Viscount Nelson. Not at best final 2 starts but has rejoined Mike de Kock and not ruled out.

Le Drakkar ended losing run that stretched back to 2008 when getting the better of Tamaathul here last time. Runner-up has franked the form subsequently but has come up short at this level previously.

Mandaean was a Group 1-winner for Andre Fabre in 2011, and belatedly confirmed that promise after a quiet 2012 when beating Don't Call Me here last time. Unexposed at 1m and looks the one to beat here.

Across The Rhine was a winner here last year when in the care of Tracy Collins, also successful in a Group 3 at the Curragh. Well beaten at Abu Dhabi last time but has since joined a yard in good form.

Iguazu Falls is a quirky sort, and was defying a significantly lower tapeta mark when scoring here last weekend. Behind Mandaean and Don't Call Me prior to that and shouldn't reverse form.

Fiscal is still a maiden but ran well to finish in the frame behind Burano and Factory Time here last year. Not in the same form since then and looks to face a very stiff task here.

Musir won first 2 starts here last year, namely the first round of the Maktoum Challenge and Al Rashidiya. Not at best subsequently and has since had an aborted spell at stud.

Timeform 1-2-3
1. Mandaean
2. Mushreq
3. Don't Call Me

Timeform View: Musir is arguably the class act but is returning from a failed spell at stud and he may just need this, in line with many from the yard. Even if he was on top form he may have trouble containing the likes of Mandaean and Mushreq, both impressive winners already this year and preference is for the former who is totally unexposed over 1m. Don't Call Me shouldn't be far away.
