Widely renowned as Australia's greatest Group 1 rider, Glen Boss has joined the Betfair stable to write a weekly column that will focus on his rides for the major meetings and provide a platform for the illustrious hoop to comment on all matters racing.
'I love spring time, it is where I come into my own as a rider and I already have some nice horses lined up for the Group 1 races - so I am raring to go,' Boss said.
'I love talking to punters. They are the lifeblood of the sport and I am going to use my weekly Betfair column to ensure they are right up to speed.
'I enjoyed my association with the Betfair crew earlier this year when they engaged me to ride their sponsored horse, Vote For Lust in Mildura. That demonstrated Betfair's commitment to racing at all levels, and I am looking forward to working with them again in the coming weeks.
'Everyone knows that I am a straight shooter and this column will tell the punters all they need to know about my rides and the big races."
Betfair's Media and Communications Manager Mathew Thompson said the acquisition of Boss is one of the most exciting initiatives Betfair has implemented.
'Betfair is committed to ensuring our punters are well informed and the acquisition of Glen Boss will ensure they have access to the latest information, straight from the track, prior to the major spring races.
'Bossy is the undisputed "King of the Spring" and has a live chance in the Cox Plate with Ocean Park, which has firmed from (16.0) to (8.40) thanks to its Underwood Stakes win, and has also just secured the ride on reigning Caulfield Cup winner Southern Speed, so we think he's in for another huge spring campaign.
'Glen's weekly column, combined with the weekly analysis of Betfair racing Informer, internationally renowned form guru Dominic Beirne, means our punters have every angle covered before they place a bet.
Glen Boss's Betfair column will run until the end of the Flemington Carnival, with the first edition to be published this Thursday, featuring analysis of Friday night's Stutt Stakes meeting at Moonee Valley and Sunday's Rupert Clarke Stakes meeting at Caulfield.
