Trainer Kevin Ryan has revealed that his star sprinter, Amadeus Wolf, is back on course for a crack at Newmarket's July Cup.
Despite being a leading contender for the Royal Ascot's Golden Jubilee Stakes, Amadeus Wolf could only trail home in 11th place behind Jeremy Noseda's Soldier's Tale last month.
However, it later transpired the four-year-old had mucus in his lungs after the race.
"He came back from Royal Ascot fine, but we scoped him and he just had a bit of mucus on him. He's scoped clean since and is in great form again now, absolutely bouncing," reported Ryan from his Hambleton Lodge stronghold on top of Sutton Bank in North Yorkshire.
Amadeus Wolf is currently priced at 15 for the six furlong Group 1 dash, due to be run at Headquarters on July 13. Sakhees Secret (5), and Asset (5.5), head the Betfair ante-post market, with Soldier's Tale third best at 13.5.
