Butlers Cabin at Aintree just limbering up for other things...
15:25 Aintree - LAY - Butlers Cabin (Forecast - 2.0)
Today's race is the 15:25 at Aintree, it's a class 3 novice handicap hurdle over 2 1/2 mile/ Butlers Cabin is forecast favourite, trained by Jonjo O'Neil and ridden by Tony McCoy.
Butlers Cabin was probably one of the luckiest horses of the last jumps season. He won 5 times over fences including at the Cheltenham festival. Incredibly in those 5 races, 30 runners in total either fell or were pulled up, and due to the fallers he was handed some of those wins on a plate.
This is his first run for 230 days and he is likely to need the race. His last two wins, and best performances, came over 4 miles 1 furlong and 3 miles 5 furlong races so this big drop in trip could see him get outpaced back over hurdles. The rogue is still a maiden over hurdles and failed to win in 6 attempts in this sphere and this race is likely to be nothing more than a warm-up for his chase campaign.
Action Strasse and Pimbury should go well in a competitive race but I will be laying the talentless swine 'Butlers Cabin'.
