14:40 Sedgefield - LAY - Circassian (Forecast - 3.25)

Today's race is the 14:40 at Sedgefield, it's a class 3 handicap hurdle over 2 mile and 4 furlongs. Circassian is forecast favourite trained by J Howard Johnson and ridden by Dennis O'Regan.

But Circassian has raced six times in handicaps hurdles from marks between 123 and 127 and has been unplaced five times without ever winning. Racing off 125 on his second run of the season the rogue is likely to struggle today.

In his five attempts over 20 or 21 furlongs he has always finished unplaced and is better over a shorter trip. The ground is forecast good-firm and in six career races on good-firm Circassian has never been placed. His only hurdles win in 12 races came on good-soft and he was unplaced on his only previous course run so should struggle carrying top weight today.

Snows Ride and Pass The Class should go well but I will be laying the talentless cretin Circassian.
