General Ledger unlikely to make a mark in the record books at Kelso...

12:35 Kelso - LAY - General Ledger (Forecast - 2.64)

Today's race is the 12:35 at Kelso, it's a class 4 novice hurdle over 2m 6f. General Ledger is forecast favourite, trained by J Howard Johnson and ridden by Dennis O'Regan.

General Ledger won a low grade bumper race on soft ground at Hexham in February and then went on to finish 2nd on his hurdles debut (and first run for 9 months) last time at Carlisle. He is a potential bounce horse on this second run back.

Today's sharp track is unlikely to suit as his form has come on testing tracks. This hapless soul was beaten 51 lengths on his only previous run at a sharp left handed track. The 1/2 mile drop in trip is probably not ideal as he was made to look one-paced over longer on a testing track last time - he's bred to be a chaser and will do better in that sphere.

Buck Struther and The Shy Man can both go well but I will be laying the rogue favourite General Ledger.
