Fringe facing a hairy encounter at Newbury

14:50 Newbury - LAY - Fringe (Forecast 2.5)

Todays race is the 14:50 Newbury it's a class 5 fillies maiden over 1 mile 2 furlongs. Fringe is favourite trained by Jane Chapple-Hyam and ridden by Jim Crowley.

Fringe is the only 4yo in the race and has to give 8 l/b to the 3yo's. She was turned over when a 1/3 favourite in one of the worst maidens of the season at Wolverhampton and clearly lacks any talent or ability. She is probably a better horse with cut in the ground and the drop in trip to 1 mile 2 furlong will expose this cretins lack of finishing pace.

Jim Crowley has never ridden a winner for Jane Chapple-Hyam and I would be shocked if that record was to change on this dodge pot.

Granary and Teodara should run big races in an open maiden but I will be laying the embarrasingly poor Fringe.
