19:45 Nottingham - LAY - GALEOTA (Forecast 2.75/7-4)

Even if I was in my prime I would struggle to ride this horse to victory over today's trip.

Galleota is the favourite trained by Richard Hannon and ridden by the excellent Ryan Moore. Although the horse is best in on Official Ratings this is the first time he has tackled five furlongs since his debut run as a 2-year-o when he was an unplaced 1.67 (4/6) fav.

Galeota ran a good race over six furlongs on his first run for 23 months last time. Having been given just 10 days to recover this should come too soon for him, he may run flat and is likely to be outpaced in the final furlong over this trip.

Dandy Nicholls has won this race twice in the last three years and Master Plasta is likely to run a big race. It's going to be competitive and there is more than one horse capable of getting the better of Galeota so I expect to be raising a glass of fine wine this evening and toasting another successful Brigadier lay.
