Royal Ascot is over for a year but Ryan doesn't stop! It's Pontefract on Sunday for our star columnist where he has four rides booked...
"I don't know why Lacing hasn't been out since April but she is a well-related filly who will appreciate this extra furlong, and has to have a decent chance in here."

Lacing
She may not have justified favouritism on her debut in a Newmarket maiden over 5f back in April but she certainly showed a good deal of promise for me in finishing in midfield there, and actually wasn't beaten far in the end. I don't know why she hasn't been out since but she is a well-related filly who will appreciate this extra furlong, and has to have a decent chance in here.

Waila
Hasn't reproduced the form of her runaway win in a 1m4f Newmarket listed race in two starts since, but she ran ok on her reappearance at Goodwood. But this looks quite a hot little listed race, with Harris Tweed, Rawaki and Freedom's Light against her, so she will have to step up a fair bit on that effort. But she has the ability to win this, and a return to quicker ground will suit.

Ingleby Symphony
Has been running ok without winning by the looks of it, and is slowly coming down the weights, so she may have a chance. But I see that she finished last in this race last season, so she needs to run a bit better than she did there to figure today.

Foxy Clarets
Came back to form when just edged out at Ayr last time when tried in first-time blinkers. Is 3lb higher today, but hopefully can still be competitive here
