Betfair Ambassador Ryan Moore has five rides at Newbury this afternoon and here you can read his exclusive thoughts on each of their chances...

16:15 Newbury - Dutch Masterpiece

"Goes well fresh and, as a lightly-raced 4yo, hopefully there is more improvement in him, but giving plenty of weight away all round first time up against smart horses is not going to be easy."

14:00 Newbury - Crafty Choice

I don't know that much about him at this stage, I am afraid. Obviously, he will be of interest in the betting coming from Richard's yard, and I suppose it is a positive that I rode a winning 2yo debutant for the stable at Windsor on Monday. And this one is related to juvenile winners and cost a fair bit, I see, so you have to be pretty hopeful.

14:30 Newbury - Leo Luna

Hasn't shown a great deal in three middle-distance maidens on the Flat so far. But he has shown a decent level of form on occasions over hurdles, winning twice, and probably running his best race when third in a decent handicap at Sandown last season. A mark of 76 could prove fair if translating his jumps form to this sphere, and the trip should suit, having won over 3m over hurdles. But I wouldn't want the ground to dry up too much for him.

15:40 Newbury - Showpiece

I rode him a couple of times last season, when he was pretty impressive when winning his maiden over 6f at Salisbury and then slightly disappointing off a mark of 85 when stepped up to 1m for a handicap at Doncaster next time. The handicapper has dropped him 1lb and I think the step back in trip will suit, so he has an each-way chance, though a place could be the best I can hope for. The 3yo handicaps are guessing games at this time of year, with so many unexposed horses lining up, but last week's Lingfield winner Exchequer could be the one to beat with just a 6lb penalty.

16:15 Newbury - Dutch Masterpiece

Although his best career efforts have come on good ground, I think he is a better horse with a bit of cut, so I hope it doesn't dry up too much. But it is a fact that his Newmarket win off 98 and his Group 3 win in Ireland came on good ground, so maybe it won't be an issue if it does. Goes well fresh and, as a lightly-raced 4yo, hopefully there is more improvement in him, but giving plenty of weight away all round first time up against smart horses is not going to be easy.

17:45 Newbury - Approaching Star

As with the unraced 2yo in the first, there isn't a great deal I can tell you about her, sorry. But I'd like to think that William wouldn't put me up on a no-hoper. And I rode an impressive first-time out 3yo filly to win for the stable at Pontefract on Tuesday. Approaching Star is a well-bred filly with an Oaks entry, so hopefully she will acquit herself well, and William won divisions of this race with Dancing Rain and Vow in recent years. But Casual Smile sets a pretty fair standard to aim at in this.
