Ryan Moore: Several rides have a chance out of my Saturday six at Newmarket

Betfair Ambassador Ryan Moore rides six horses this weekend. See what he has to say about them...

"His record, so far, gives you encouragement that he will improve from his first to second start. He definitely wouldn't mind a bit of rain."

Stepping up

14:45 - Melting Dew

He was obviously a little bit disappointing on his return, but I said before the race that he probably needed a little help from the handicapper, and he has been dropped 2lb for it. And hopefully he will be a fair bit sharper for the run, too. The step back up to 1m6f should suit on the evidence of his Goodwood second last August, and the bit of rain that is forecast won't bother him.

Positive scenes

15:20 - Visinari

I don't know anything about him, but the stable's juveniles seem to be ticking over nicely enough and he is the selected from three entries that they had in this race at the five-day stage. He is a Dark Angel and a half-brother to a couple of decent winners, so there are reasons to be positive.

Cheek pieces on Aces

15:55 - Aces

He won for me over 7f here last season, and finds himself off a 1lb lower mark here. He is effective over this shorter trip, and he has run two fair races at Chester this season. He is weighted to go well and hopefully has a good a chance as any. The tongue-tie that he wore when I won on him is back on here, and first-time cheek pieces are tried too, I see.

Good chance

16:30 - Nonchalance

She is a well-related Dubawi Filly and she looked pretty good when winning at Haydock last time. This is probably a better race and she does carry a 7lb penalty, as well as stepping back to 7f, but of course you have to like her chances after her run last time.

A solid horse

17:05 - Gravistas

He looks to have run two solid races this season, finishing second off this mark at Musselburgh last time to an improver. This is just his sixth start, so hopefully he can progress a bit more himself and go close in a race that has cut up a fair bit.

Buzzing to win

17:35 - Buzz

He was a fair improver last season, winning three times, finishing a good fifth in the November Handicap and rounding off with a second off this mark at Kempton. He looks to have run a satisfactory race when in midfield on his comeback in April, and hopefully he can step forward here. His record, so far, gives you encouragement that he will improve from his first to second start. He definitely wouldn't mind a bit of rain.
