This looks a good opportunity for Idaho. There is no Flintshire in the race this year, which helps a lot, and I think my colt is the one to beat.
I suppose the fact that he under-performed behind Erupt in the Canadian International last year is a slight concern but that was at the end of a long campaign for him, which had its up and downs, and I think he comes here in good shape.
Idaho needed the run first time up at Epsom and then he stepped forward to win the Hardwicke on quick ground, and then he probably progressed again when third to Enable and Ulysses in the King George, and we know how strong that run was from York this week. That form marks him out as the one to beat here.
Erupt doesn't look to be coming here in the best of nick, but you have to respect him and the home team, and Money Multiplier could be their number one. He finished second to Flintshire in this race last season and warmed up for this with a win at Monmouth last month. Hunter O'Riley was getting a lot of weight when beating Bigger Picture and Sadler's Joy here last time, and I'd probably say Money Multiplier is the best of the home team.
Hopefully, my colt will have too much for them all, though, and 1m4f on quick ground is fine for him.
