Ryan has been given a shot at Kentucky Derby glory, and will miss Saturday's 2,000 Guineas
"Lines Of Battle is a horse I have always liked."
I won't be at Newmarket for the 2,000 Guineas on Saturday, as I travel over to the States to ride Lines Of Battle in the Kentucky Derby for Aidan.
But, all being well, I will be back in time to ride at Newmarket on Sunday.
As regular readers of this column will know, Lines Of Battle is a horse I have always liked since seeing him in the paddock before his debut win at The Curragh last May and when riding him to finish sixth in the Coventry.
And that regard was cemented when I rode him to win the UAE Derby at Meydan last time, a race he won probably in spite of the slow pace that day.
More of how I rate his chances in Saturday's column.
