2.30 Jersey Stakes (Group 3) (1) 7f
Timeform Top Rated:
130 3. GIFTED MASTER Hugo Palmer Pat Smullen
129p 11. HAALICK Roger Varian Andrea Atzeni
128p 7. CASTLE HARBOUR John Gosden Frankie Dettori
Analyst's Verdict:
John Gosden holds a strong hand with both Remarkable and Castle Harbour making plenty of appeal. Both have strong handicap form to their name this term, with the former narrowly selected given he is currently twice the price of his stablemate. Gifted Master will find the step back up to 7f in his favour and he is shortlisted, whilst Haalick and Thikriyaat are others worthy of respect.
3.05 Queen Mary Stakes (Group 2) (1) 5f
Timeform Top Rated:
115p 9. LADY AURELIA Wesley A. Ward Frankie Dettori
114p 1. AL JOHRAH H-F. Devin Gregory Benoist
111p 3. CAMARGUE Mark Johnston William Buick
Analyst's Verdict:
Both race and track experience could give Camargue an edge in a hotly-contested Queen Mary, the race she landed last time having been won in the past by the likes of Besharah (3rd in last year's renewal) and Rizeena (won this in 2013). Lady Aurelia clearly has a big chance on the back of her Keeneland rout and the unbeaten Al Johrah is comfortably the pick of the 2 French challengers.
3.40 Duke of Cambridge Stakes (Group 2) (1) 1m
Timeform Top Rated:
135 11. LUCIDA J. S. Bolger Kevin Manning
134 10. JAZZI TOP John Gosden Frankie Dettori
132 4. ALWAYS SMILE Saeed bin Suroor James Doyle
Analyst's Verdict:
A cracking renewal of this Group 2. Always Smile would be unbeaten if she hadn't hung left on hitting the front in the Sandringham at this meeting last year and can take the step up to pattern company in her stride on the back of an impressive York reappearance success. Jazzi Top and Andre Fabre's Dahlia winner Usherette head the dangers.
4.20 Prince of Wales's Stakes (Group 1) (1) 1¼m
Timeform Top Rated:
147 1. A SHIN HIKARI Masanori Sakaguchi Yutaka Take
141 3. THE GREY GATSBY Kevin Ryan Jamie Spencer
140 6. FOUND Aidan O'Brien Ryan Moore
Analyst's Verdict:
It's hard to get away from Japanese raider A Shin Hikari after his devastating display on his European debut at Chantilly (soft) last month. Found has proved to be a very consistent performer at the highest level and is perhaps the one most likely to follow him home, though The Grey Gatsby will also have a big say in the battle for minor honours if anywhere near his best on his reappearance.
5.00 Royal Hunt Cup (Heritage Handicap) (2) 1m
Timeform Top Rated:
128 8. CONVEY Sir Michael Stoute Ryan Moore
127 10. BALTY BOYS Brian Ellison Callum Shepherd (5)
127 30. LIBRISA BREEZE Dean Ivory Robert Winston
Analyst's Verdict:
It's hard to be confident in a race as competitive as this but Donncha has plenty going for him and appeals as a solid each-way play. Balty Boys was first in his group when fourth in this last year and is now 3 lb lower, while Godolphin hold a strong hand, notably with Secret Brief and Portage. Convey, Spirit Raiser and Mitchum Swagger complete the (not so short) shortlist.
5.35 Sandringham Handicap (Listed) (1) 1m
Timeform Top Rated:
125p 16. PERSUASIVE John Gosden Frankie Dettori
124 20. MISE EN ROSE Charlie Appleby Mickael Barzalona
122p 5. DIPLOMA Sir Michael Stoute Ryan Moore
Analyst's Verdict:
Persuasive looks a smart filly in the making, again winning with plenty in hand at Chelmsford a fortnight ago, and she is very much one to keep on the right side of. Diploma and Aljuljalah look progressive fillies in their own right and should lay down a hefty challenge, while Mix And Mingle and Raaqy need mentioning, too.
