I don't think Jass will have the gas

14:00 Newcastle - LAY - Jass (Forecast- 2.8)

Today's race is the 14:00 at Newcastle, it's a class 4 novice hurdle over 2 miles. Jass is forecast favourite trained by K G Reverley and ridden by Fergus King.

But this Jass is an absolute disgrace of a hurdler. He finally lost his maiden tag at the fifth attempt when beating trees in a low grade maiden hurdle at Kelso over 2 mile 1 furlong last time out.

Jass needs 2 miles 4 furlongs and more to show his best, so it is worrying that he has dropped to the minimum trip where he is likely to get outpaced. He is a novice with a penalty and is likely to struggle in this tougher company. This second race back from a break may come to soon and he could run flat today.

It looks a very open race and I will be laying the ludicrous cretin Jass.
