Betfair Ambassador Olly Murphy writes exclusively for Betfair about his runners, providing insight into their form and honest assessments of their chances.
Olly always wanted to work in racing but initially saw his future in the saddle, attending Pony Club as a child before riding in point-to-points and progressing to riding under rules.
After Olly hung up his riding boots, with 30 winners to his name, he made the transition to training. He served an apprenticeship under Alan King before moving to Ireland where Olly served as an assistant to another Betfair racing ambassador - Gordon Elliott.
Olly struck out on his own in the summer of 2017, establishing Warren Chase Stables, and enjoying a dream start when Dove Mountain won the first race of his training career at Brighton.
In his third full season he celebrated his first Grade 1 winner when Itchy Feet won the The Scilly Isles Novices' Chase at Sandown Park. It was confirmation that a trainer who had until then showed plenty of promise had arrived on the big stage.
