Goldoni, sent off at [9.0] on Betfair, pulled his was to the front in the first furlong but was quickly joined at the head of affairs by Mister Music, who was sent off at [8.2]. Cameron Highland ([3.2]) settled just in behind the leading duo with Thomas Gainsborough anchored at the tail of the field.
As they reached the top of the course, Mister Music shared the lead with Cameron Highland, the latter continuing to travel well in behind the leaders, whilst Unex Michelangelo and Thomas Gainsborough were both held up.
Turning for home, Cameron Highland took the lead momentarily but he couldn't shake off Goldoni or Mister Music, that pair going past the Roger Varian trained colt with relative ease at the top of the home straight.
Goldoni and Mister Music fought out the closing two furlongs and it was the former who eventually got the better of the battle, staying on well on the run in to see off the Hannon runner by just under two lengths.
Thomas Gainborough finished down the field, producing a disappointing display, never getting into contention under Joseph O'Brien.
Goldoni is ineligible for the Derby given his gelding status, a race in which Camelot remains warm-favourite, available to back at ([3.45]) on Betfair.comments powered by Disqus
