Limerick and Wexford are the destinations for Joseph O'Brien's horses on Sunday as the Betfair Ambassador has four runners on the afternoon...
"Chess Grand Master has returned from a long absence in great form in the last couple of months, winning twice at Dundalk. He stays well on the Flat, so this longer trip should be fine for him."
Better round of jumping needed
Wexford 13:45 - Christopher Robin
It's fair to say he has been a bit hit and miss over hurdles so far. He ran his best race when third at Gowran Park last month, but he was badly let down by his jumping at Navan last time. He'll need to jump much better than that if he is to get involved here.
Step up in class as we aim to get some black type
Limerick 14:35 - Gipsy Lee Rose
Gipsy Lee Rose is a point-to-point winner that made an encouraging hurdling debut when only just touched off by Annie Odds at Clonmel last month. This represents a big step up in class for her from that, but getting black type for these mares is always in the back of my mind and we'll give her a shot at it here. The longer trip should suit her.
In great form as we switch back to hurdles
Limerick 15:10 - Chess Grand Master
Chess Grand Master has returned from a long absence in great form in the last couple of months, winning twice at Dundalk. He has a few runs over hurdles under his belt already and can hopefully transfer the improvement he has shown on the Flat back over hurdles. He stays well on the Flat, so this longer trip should be fine for him. Willie Mullins has declared Carefully Selected for this and he will be very hard to beat.
Tough task having shown very little
Limerick 15:40 - Write It Down
Write It Down hasn't shown much promise in his first four starts over hurdles, including in a handicap hurdle last time. It would be difficult to make a case for him based on his form.
