In his latest Saturday runners preview Joseph O'Brien runs the rule over his fantastic five in action at Limerick...
"San Andreas ran a career-best when second in the Sovereign Path Handicap on Irish Champions Weekend and if he repeats that effort, he'll be very tough to beat."
A nice opportunity for Royal Blend
Royal Blend has been unfortunate not to win a maiden by now and this looks to be a nice opportunity for her. This trip should be ideal for and the draw has been kind, so hopefully she can get the job done before going onto even better things.
Improving Explorer can go close
Explorer's Way has run well in both his starts to date, with his most recent run at Gowran Park representing good improvement from his debut. While this shorter trip might not be ideal, this doesn't look an overly intimidating maiden, so hopefully he'll go close to winning.
De Vega's Warrior has run solid races in both his starts to date despite greenness, but will need to improve a nice bit to get seriously involved in this.
San Andreas has very few faults
San Andreas has gone up a stone on the turf in his last five starts and just picked up one win along the way, so it was good to find this race which looks a good opportunity for him, as he deserves another win this season. He ran a career-best when second in the Sovereign Path Handicap on Irish Champions Weekend and if he repeats that effort, he'll be very tough to beat.
Dante's Pass overcame a slow start to make a winning debut at Listowel last month. He wasn't given a handicap mark after that, so we are obliged to run him in a race like this against far more experienced opposition. It's hard to know how he'll fare, but hopefully he'll shape with good promise for the future.
