Just the four runners for Betfair Ambassador Joseph O'Brien on Saturday, three at Limerick and one at Down Royal...
"He should benefit from that experience and his form makes him look one of the leading contenders here."
Another step forward needed
Limerick 13:45 - Little Light
Little Light had been a little bit disappointing in her first two starts on the track, but she ran a much better race when second in a maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse last time. The winner came out and finished a close fourth in the Mares' Novice Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival the other day, so the form looks stronger now than it did at the time. Hopefully she can take another step forward and run a big race.
Soft ground set to suit
Limerick 15:30 - Song Of The Sky
Song Of The Sky had a very good Flat campaign last season, but she hasn't quite put it together over hurdles yet. However, this is the first time she has had her preferred soft ground over hurdles, so hopefully she can show some improvement and be competitive.
Form gives him a leading chance
Limerick 16:40 - Top Moon
Top Moon is a promising four-year-old that was only just touched off on his debut in a bumper at Naas. We gave him a run over hurdles in a Listed novice hurdle at Punchestown last time and he ran a good race to finish third against much more experienced opposition. He should benefit from that experience and his form makes him look one of the leading contenders here. As long as there isn't any superstars amongst the newcomers, hopefully he'll go close.
Stronger test of stamina will help
Down Royal 15:40 - Aforementioned
He won a maiden hurdle at Limerick back in November and ran well when fourth in a rated novice hurdle at Thurles last time. He shapes as though this stronger test of stamina will suit him and while he has to shoulder top weight, I'd be hopeful he can run well.
