Joseph O'Brien is very happy with his trio of runners going into the second day at Royal Ascot and believes they have each-way chances if everything goes to plan...
"A big field like this will suit him and as long as too much rain doesn’t fall, he will have a sneaky each-way chance for sure."
Joseph O'Brien on King's Field
Plenty of promise and longer trip will suit
15:05 - Eminent Authority
Eminent Authority has been a real surprise package in recent weeks. He doesn't show much at all in his work at home, so for him to have made a winning debut around Killarney and to have ran so well in a Listed race at Leopardstown in his first two starts was a very pleasant surprise to everyone. He is clearly a lot better than he lets on at home and there was plenty of promise of better to come in his run at Leopardstown. He shapes as though this longer trip will very much suit and while it would be impossible to be bullish about how good he could be given he shows so little at home, hopefully he'll surprise everyone again and run a big race.
In great form and deserves her chance
16:20 - Red Tea
We've been delighted with Red Tea since she's come to us. She has taken a strong step forward with each of her three starts, winning a handicap at the Curragh prior to getting valuable Group 2 black type when third in the Lanwades Stud Stakes back there last time. She has been in great form since then and we thought we'd let her take her chance here. She seems ground versatile and should run a solid race.
Big field should help providing we don't get lots of rain
17:00 - King's Field
Like Eminent Authority, King's Field is a horse that really surprised us last year. There wouldn't be many worse work horses at home than him and to say we were pessimistic about his prospects before his debut would be an understatement, but he went on to win three races and here he is running at Royal Ascot! To be fair to him, he has been very good on the track so far.
He picked up an injury in his first run out in Meydan back in January that slowed him up, but we were delighted with his comeback run in a Listed race at Naas. A big field like this will suit him and as long as too much rain doesn't fall, he will have a sneaky each-way chance for sure.
