Hugo sends a pair of young runners to Goodwood on Sunday. Here are his thoughts on their chances...

"Aventinus will appreciate dropping back to Goodwood's sharp seven, and is well drawn in stall two, but he's meeting experienced older handicappers for the first time."

Dukinta

Dukinta is a beautifully-bred Dubawi filly, but a very late foal, with the result that she came into training late and has taken time to come to hand. She's still a work in progress, but she is ready to start now and looks a picture. She's nicely drawn, and I think she'll appreciate the easy ground.

Aventinus

Aventinus had to do a bit too much from a wide draw at Chester, and also found his stamina stretched by the extended seven furlong trip. He will appreciate dropping back to Goodwood's sharp seven, and is well drawn in stall two, but he's meeting experienced older handicappers for the first time, and it will clearly require a career-best performance to win.
