Timeform take you through the card at York on Saturday...
"...she appeals as a worthy favourite for the Mick Easterby yard in her hat-trick bid..."
Timeform on Arrowtown
14:05 - ERIK THE RED (7) looks to be coming to the boil while a few others are a bit jaded at the back of the season, so he could be the way to go arriving on the back of an encouraging effort in ground that suits. Bang-in-form Mountain Angel is the obvious danger ahead of Finniston Farm.
14:40 - CONSTANT (4) has an upwardly-mobile profile, should relish the ground, and would have defied a penalty at Hamilton last time had he not been up against a subsequent pattern winner, so he looks well worth a go at this level. Dave Dexter and Vintage Brut both boast excellent records in testing ground and have already proved themselves capable at this level, so they're certainly considered, too.
15:15 - PERFECT PASTURE (1) has a solid record with cut in the ground and seems to have worked his way back into top form of late, so he's worth chancing despite the burden of top weight in a wide-open affair. Al Qahwa, Flying Pursuit and Kimberella all went well in the Ayr Gold Cup last time and are expected to remain competitive.
15:50 - EVEN KEEL (1) benefited from the step up to 1m and improved again as he regained the winning thread at Newmarket last time, making all against the rail to beat a useful yardstick by two lengths. A 8 lb rise in the weights makes life tougher here, but Jonathan Portman's charge can boast some strong form, with plenty of winners having come out of the race he won at Newbury in August, too, and he looks sure to give another good account in a what looks a competitive event.
16:25 - JONAH JONES (2) is taking a step down from listed company and sets the standard even with a penalty in this penultimate leg of the Placepot. Fares Kodiac is also a previous winner and open to further improvement, while Qutob failed to progress from his debut, but still has the form to play a part.
17:00 - ARROWTOWN (5) proved better than ever as she followed up her Thirsk victory at Ayr last time, produced to lead over a furlong out and quickly forging clear to win by seven lengths. The handicapper has been surprisingly kind on the back of that - she is just 6 lb higher here - and she appeals as a worthy favourite for the Mick Easterby yard in her hat-trick bid, clearly thriving at present and still relatively unexposed over staying trips (only four starts over 2m+).
17:35 - MASTER CARPENTER (14) gets the vote in the finale, as he showed he's back in good heart when ending his losing run at Goodwood last time and was an impressive winner over this C&D last season off 7 lb higher. Last year's winner Grand Inquisitor and improving three-year-old Epaulement head the dangers.
