16:40 - GIVE AND TAKE (2) made an encouraging debut when a length second at Ascot last month and is sure to be thereabouts if building on that. He rates by far the most solid proposition with the Placepot in mind, though the newcomers Momentarily and Wild Illusion, who represents the powerful Charlie Appleby yard, also merit consideration in an interesting maiden.
17:10 - MAMBO DANCER (4) showed much improved form when a nose second on his handicap debut at Musselburgh 11 days ago, dictating and finding all the time on his first start at 1½m. He remains open to more improvement after just four starts and, with a 3 lb rise in the weights more than fair, Mambo Dancer is taken to see off the attentions of the similarly lightly-raced Perla Blanca and can get off the mark for the powerful Silvestre de Sousa/Mark Johnston combination.
17:40 - ISSUE (4) produced a fair level of form in three starts as a three-year-old, including when second on her final outing at Newcastle in November, and should have plenty still to offer now handicapping. She is fancied to make a winning return from nine months off the track for the James Fanshawe yard in this third leg of the Placepot. Rubensian has been given a major chance by the handicapper and is fancied to give the selection most to do.
18:10 - SEYASAH (8) produced the best effort of her short career to date when second at Doncaster 17 days ago and a reproduction of that form may well enable her to go one better back in maiden company in what is a race lacking depth. Nuncio and Canadian Royal can fight it out for minor honours unless Waitomo steps up considerably on her opening run.
18:40 - DOR'S LAW (5) ran creditably when two and a half lengths fourth on her most recent outing here and is entitled to strip fitter with that first outing for six months under her belt. She gets the tentative vote in a race where most of the field have questions to answer at present.
19:10 - MULTICULTURAL (5) offered plenty to work on in three starts in maidens and was seriously impressive when making a winning handicap debut in first-time blinkers here on Thursday. The quick turnaround is an obvious concern, but James Tate's charge remains potentially very well treated under a 6 lb penalty and looks the one to beat if arriving in the same mood. Fieldsman will be winning races for David O'Meara sooner rather than later and heads the dangers.
19:40 - HAMISH MCGONAGAIN (1) cashed in on a handy turf mark on his second start for David O'Meara at Nottingham on Friday, justifying strong market support in the process, and with Patrick Vaughan's claim more than offsetting his penalty, he should take plenty of stopping. Agnethe and Maggi May are feared most.
