Timeform take you through the card at Yarmouth on Sunday...
"...his style of running should suit Spencer down to the ground..."
Timeform on Maverick Officer
14:20 - SUSSEX GIRL (6) could never land a blow held up in a steadily-run race at Newmarket last week, but her late gains that day indicate that she's probably back in good form; John Berry's charge could be worth chancing in this opening leg of the Placepot. Trysal has plenty of previous at this track and is well weighted nowadays, while Lunar Deity is pretty reliable.
14:50 - COMMANDER COLE (2) proved that he's just as good this year, and on turf, when resuming winning ways at Doncaster three weeks, seeing out the longer trip and, if anything, doing quite well from his position (held up in a slowly-run race). He still needs to prove that he can back that up given his previous efforts this season, but he remains with scope from a handicapping perspective, just 4 lb higher here, and looks sure to give another good account for the Saeed bin Suroor yard that is just starting to find its stride.
15:25 - NO WAY JOSE (1) is the clear pick of those with previous experience, improving all the time, and she is taken to defy a penalty. That said, Mulan, Mubtasimah and Quasar are all very well-bred fillies seeing a racecourse for the first time, and market support for any of the trio should be highly respected.
16:00 - A tricky race with AUTUMN SPLENDOUR (1) the selection. He ran well having to concede weight to a promising winner at Chelmsford last week, and should give another good account on his nursery bow back at the scene of his C&D success in June. Sky Patrol's opening mark looks a fair one, while Carrie's Vision shouldn't be dismissed judged on earlier form.
16:35 - Jamie Spencer's boosted his fine strike rate at this track with a 283/1 five-timer on Tuesday evening and will be hoping to do so again with six rides on today's card. His most likely winner could well prove to be MAVERICK OFFICER (6), who shaped as if a return to this trip was in order when down the field over ten furlongs at Goodwood last time. Also dropping down markedly in grade this afternoon, his style of running should suit Spencer down to the ground, a strong traveller who is likely to be held up for a late run, and everything looks set fair for a big run.
17:10 - The percentage call in this concluding leg of the Placepot is to side with SPANISH CITY (1), who arrives on the back of solid efforts on each of his last two starts in big-field handicaps. Hajjam and Colonel Frank rate next best.
17:40 - SPINART (2) was knocking on the door prior to being caught too wide at Kempton last time and is worth the chance to belatedly break his duck in the finale. Last-time-out winners Nick Vedder and Kraka head the dangers.
