14:00 - ABBEYGREY (2) showed the benefit of a four-month break when bolting up at Newton Abbot last week, admittedly being suited to being held up in a strongly-run race. Connections are quite rightly turning him out quickly able to race off the same mark and, provided this doesn't come too soon, he holds fantastic claims.
14:30 - VIKING MISTRESS (1) won twice over hurdles earlier this year and shaped really well over fences over an inadequate 2m at this course last month. His run over hurdles last time can be excused and, able to race off a 13 lb lower mark back over fences, she makes a fair bit of appeal from a handicapping perspective.
15:00 - Useful hurdler WAIT FOR ME (7) very much caught the eye in a useful handicap over hurdles at Newton Abbot last time and looks a very interesting recruit to fences. A robust gelding, he has the physique to at least match his hurdles form in this sphere and, in a very winnable event, is taken to land the odds on chase debut.
15:35 - Vosne Romanee sets the standard of these on form, but the progressive ADRRASTOS (4) could be the one to focus on. He has won both of his starts over fences so far, improving on his debut win when winning by 10 lengths at Stratford last month, pressing on after two out and in full control when pecking at the last. A subsequent 7 lb rise looks fair, and with the prospect of even more to come, is fancied to progress past Vosne Romanee.
16:05 - HATCHER (1) is clearly an exuberant type, but he's made a positive start to his career, winning in good style at Huntingdon last time, and is capable of defying a penalty on his return to action. Sunader fetched £40,000 last year and represents a yard with a particularly good record around this time of year, while Guiding Stars and Vintage Paradise were presumably thought capable of better last time.
16:35 - It's highly likely there'll be more to come from FORZA MILAN (3) this term and it's worth taking a chance on his fitness back from nearly seven months off. The form of his Chepstow win in February worked out well, and with Jonjo O'Neil among the winners, he is preferred to Lime Street, who has made a solid start for new handler Peter Bowen and should figure again, while Werenearlyoutofit has won after an absence before so it wouldn't be a surprise to see him go well on his belated return.
17:05 - BANDITRY (2) is going to need a sharp test in this sphere, but he's a very useful Flat performer and is expected to outclass these having already displayed aptitude for hurdling last year. Amanto will likely give his running, while Counter Shy shaped with plenty of promise in a bumper back in April.
