"...his yard has a terrific record when sending just one runner to a meeting..."

Timeform on Vodka Pigeon

17:10 - POPSICLE (5) was unlucky to bump into a well handicapped one at Lingfield last time, and she looks capable of striking from this sort of mark. Passing Star is threatening to come good, while Navarra Princess will be suited by a return to this trip and is another to consider.

17:40 - THREE LITTLE BIRDS (4) lost nothing in defeat when narrowly edged out over C&D last week, running better than she had when winning from 6 lb lower the time before, and she looks sure to give another good account in this second leg of the Placepot. Invincible Ridge and Canford Bay head the list of dangers.

18:10 - Archie Watson has saddled 33 two-year-old winners already this term and GRENADIER (1) could be another one here. Off the mark in good style over C&D three weeks ago, that form sets the standard on weight-adjusted ratings, even with his 7 lb penalty, and he looks sure to take all the beating with the prospect of more to come. Wild Edric and Sirius Slew are feared most of the remainder.

18:40 - PERCY PROSECCO (1) was much improved when off the mark in a 10-runner handicap at Windsor 11 days ago (pair clear) and on that evidence, he ought to make a very bold follow-up bid under a penalty. Acquirer can give him most to think about.

19:10 - CELTIC ARTISAN (1) snapped a lengthy losing sequence at this venue 13 days ago and though raised 6 lb, he remains with handicapping scope on old form. D'Waterside shaped quite well back on the level last week and is next best.

19:40 - Whatwouldyouknow looks set to go off a hot favourite for this concluding leg of the Placepot but, at the prices, it could be worth taking a chance on VODKA PIGEON (8). Adam West's charge was well below form on his most recent outing at Lingfield, but he is clearly better than that, as he showed when a close second at the same venue in June. 2 lb lower in the weights here, his yard has a terrific record when sending just one runner to a meeting, and the application of headgear for the first time could just give Vodka Pigeon the edge he needs to belatedly get off the mark.

20:10 - SCOTTISH JIG (1) bumped into a couple of smart prospects at Newmarket last time and can resume winning ways off a fair opening mark. Recent C&D-winner Allante is feared most.

20:40 - RAWDAA (1) looked a smart prospect when winning at Newmarket three weeks ago and should have no problems defying a penalty.
