Through The Card: Wolverhampton, Saturday 8 September
Timeform take you through the card at Wolverhampton on Saturday evening...
"...this looks a tremendous opportunity for him to get off the mark."
Timeform on Safarhi
17:45 - AMERICAN PATROL (3) ran creditably on a rare turf outing at Windsor last time and can quickly resume winning ways back on AW despite a rise in the weights. Celtic Artisan has thrived around here in recent weeks and is the obvious threat ahead of Bell Heather.
18:15 - TIGERWOLF (4) is a relatively consistent type, particularly on the AW, his last win coming at this track, so it's worth taking the chance that he's on his game in a race that shouldn't take much winning. The others are essentially out of form, but Rene Mathis and Toofi would both offer a threat to the selection if benefitting from this drop-in grade.
18:45 - KADIZ (6) is the pick on form in a weak race and only has the solitary poor run to put behind her if she's to capitalise on an excellent opportunity to get off the mark. She gets the tentative vote ahead of recent Southwell winner Requited and the well-bred Motagally, who is open to improvement having been sent off a short price on debut.
19:15 - ON ROUTE (11) failed to improve making handicap debut at Chelmsford 11 days ago, giving the vibes that she needed further, and a return to this trip will suit. She remains with potential yet, and get the vote to get off the mark at the fifth attempt, ahead of Li Kui and Aurag.
19:45 - HIBERNICUS (5) did too much too soon at Goodwood on his most recent outing, yet he had previously looked a most progressive 3-y-o worth following, and he is worth another chance to make it 3 wins from 4 career starts. Occupy and Delsheer are others to consider, whilst Silver Character isn't one to write off either back on AW.
20:15 - COSMOGYRAL (12), starting from a low base, ran her best race to date when fourth over further at Ffos Las 2 weeks ago and, given she is less exposed than most she meets here, a big run may be on the cards. C&D winner Sbraase and Livingstones Quest are a couple of others to consider.
20:45 - SAFARHI (5) has taken a while to come to hand, but he's firmly on the up now, pulled clear of the remainder with another improver at Windsor last time, and is in receipt of a healthy weight for age allowance, so this looks a tremendous opportunity for him to get off the mark. Fellow 3-y-o Dame Nellie is also worth considering along with the in-form Mrs Burbidge.
21:15 - SPICED (1) was only just denied at Chelmsford 2 weeks ago and probably has more in improvement in her given pedigree/connections. Destinys Rock and Ganton Par are others to consider.
