17:15 - WHITECREST (7) hasn't been knocking on the door of late but she's consistent, has a solid record under these conditions, and benefits from the useful Mark Crehan's 7 lb claim, so she might have enough to come out on top in a race where most have questions to answer. Carlovian is an obvious danger returning to this trip and it's worth noting that Pushkin Museum has dipped below his last winning mark.
17:45 - A SURE WELCOME (8) shaped encouragingly under the circumstances when second on his most recent outing at Kempton, refusing to settle from the outset and keeping on surprisingly well with that in mind to be beaten just three quarters of a length. The hope is that he will settle better now dropping back to five furlongs and he should take all the beating if doing so, still only 2 lb higher than when winning over C&D in April and likely to get the strong pace that he likes to run at with perennial front runners Oriental Relation and Razin' Hell in the field.
18:15 - MICHELE STROGOFF (3) is a likeable type who has a straightforward way of going about things so he could be prove tough to pass if he gets his own way in front, acknowledging his main rival Fayez is actually the pick at the weights in form terms. Bravery is the subject of a notable jockey booking, so he's worth considering, too.
18:45 - COMPORTA (4) left the impression he is well worth another try over this sort of trip when third here three weeks ago, forced to come from further back than ideal in a slowly-run race and doing well, all things considered, to finish as close as he did (never nearer than at the finish). The booking of Oisin Murphy catches the eye and the extra emphasis on stamina here could be just what Comporta needs to record a second career success for the Ismail Mohammed yard.
19:15 - EMIRATES KNIGHT (5) improved from his first run to his second and might be good enough to take this, with the step up in trip expected to bring about an even better effort. This is a race featuring a number of interesting newcomers, though, and the market should point the way to possible dangers, with Alhaazm, Astrologer and Najib all likely-looking sorts on paper and highly respected.
19:45 - CASANOVA (1) makes plenty of appeal for John Gosden as a Frankel half-brother to three winners and could be the way to go in another field featuring a bunch of interesting newcomers. Rich Cummins and Red Desert also catch the eye first-time up, while Pour Me A Drink is likely to step up on his promising debut at Leicester nearly six weeks ago.
20:15 - JEM SCUTTLE (2) is going the right way on the evidence of his last two starts over C&D, winning by two and a half lengths at the beginning of this month and improving again when finding only one too good from 6 lb higher last time, with the front pair pulling clear of the third. Declan Carroll's charge has a further 4 lb rise in the weights to contend with here, but he still sets the standard on weight-adjusted ratings - and may yet prove capable of better still after just three starts in handicaps - while concerns about his drawn in stall 10 are offset by the forecast strong gallop.
20:45 - SULTAN BAYBARS (11) has dropped so far in the weights this season that he's bound to capitalise at some point and, based on the way he shaped having been stuck far too wide over C&D last time, his turn might not be far away. A chance is taken on him to get the better of the prolific Lucky Lodge.
