Timeform take you through the card at Wolverhampton on Saturday evening.
"He looks sure to relish the step up to a mile and a half on that evidence..."
Timeform on Ghostwatch
18:00 - IT MUST BE FAITH (4) quickened up nicely to score over C&D in March and, with Serena Brotherton booked to ride, the eight-year-old would appear to hold sound claims of following up in this opening leg of the Placepot, with a 6 lb higher mark unlikely to stop him. Berlios looks the biggest danger in receipt of 5 lb and could be the one for the forecast, ahead of Pushkin Museum.
18:30 - SKY GYPSY (4) showed improved form to get off the mark over C&D 11 days ago, travelling strongly on the front end from the outset and coming home unchallenged. That form sets the standard on weight-adjusted ratings here and she rates by far the most solid proposition for Placepot purposes as a result, with the prospect of more to come, too.
19:00 - ARCHIE (1) ran creditably when last seen finishing second at Kempton in October and, though hard to win with, he remains on a good mark on that evidence and looks sure to be thereabouts once again on debut for Richard Spencer. Zafaranah seems sure to improve again after winning over further here last month and can give the selection most to do.
19:30 - GALA CELEBRATION (4) built on the promise of his debut effort for Ian Williams when resuming winning ways at Chelmsford last time, settling much better than has often been the case before staying on strongly to win by a length and a half. He remains potentially well treated from 4 lb higher in the weights here and gets the verdict ahead of Street Poet and Adventureman in an open heat, with the prospect of more to come given how lightly-raced he is for this yard.
20:00 - ELYSEES (2) shaping as if needing a stiffer test when fourth over nine furlongs at this venue three weeks ago and, one of several in here who can do better now handicapping, Alan King's is fancied to take his form to a new level and makes most appeal with the Placepot in mind accordingly. Gembari improved to win at Chelmsford when last seen and could kick on this year, while Society Secret is another of the interesting handicap debutants.
20:30 - GHOSTWATCH (8) shaped with promise in two starts as a juvenile, including when last seen finishing third at Haydock in September, keeping on gradually without quite having the pace to get on terms with the first two. He looks sure to relish the step up to a mile and a half on that evidence and, with the Charlie Appleby yard in such fine form at present (seven winners from last 16 runners), Ghostwatch is fancied to see off the attentions of the very smart hurdler Elgin and can get off the mark.
21:00 - CASEMATES SQUARE (8) wasn't seen to best effect over further when last seen in November and, given his low-mileage profile, he rates a likely type to do better still back at this shorter trip. Air Ministry and Miss Dusky Diva are a couple of others to consider in the finale.
