Timeform take you through the card at Wolverhampton on Saturday evening...
"...he is behind only Thunderoad on weight-adjusted ratings and has more scope for improvement than that rival..."
Timeform on Albert Finney
17:40 - KILBAHA LADY (3) is threatening to come good again and this could be the day. Citta d'Oro made a fine return when beating that rival here last month and should go well once more, while the other last-time-out winner, Don't Do It, looks set for another big run, too.
18:15 - SALUTE THE SOLDIER (1) ouldn't quite the complete the hat-trick when last seen over C&D in Decemeber, but he still improved again to go down by just half a length, and it might have been closer still had he got a stronger gallop to run at (refused to settle in the early stages). Still relatively unexposed after only six starts, he could yet have more to offer now returning as a four-year-old and is taken to add to Adam Kirby's fine record at this venue from only 2 lb higher, with Illustrissime feared most of the remainder following a ready success here last month.
18:45 - ALBERT FINNEY (2) is unlikely to be one of the leading lights in the John Gosden yard, but he is slowly going the right way, shedding his maiden tag on his penultimate outing here and then running at least as well in defeat when third (beaten just a head) in handicap company at Chelmsford last time. The way that he finished his race on that occasion suggests that this longer trip will see him in an even better light, and everything looks set fair for another big run despite a 2 lb rise in the weights; he is behind only Thunderoad on weight-adjusted ratings and has more scope for improvement than that rival.
19:15 - TIGER EYE (4) was late making it to the track, but she's bred to be useful and a brace of small-field minor wins confirm that she's going the right way. Her opening mark looks lenient and she will take some stopping. Toy Theatre also tasted success last time, while Emily Goldfinch can get involved back over a more suitable trip.
19:45 - BROUGHTONS ADMIRAL (5) has done well over hurdles for this yard and is worth siding with to continue the good work on his first Flat outing since 2017. Tour de Paris can give the selection most to do, having proved better than ever to get off the mark from 3 lb lower over C&D last month.
20:15 - PHOSPHOR (8) showed enough in a couple of Newbury maidens last year to suggest he can win a race of this nature, so it might be worth taking a chance on him for the Martyn Meade yard that can boast a £27 level stakes profit when sending only one runner to a meeting. However, strong market support for Scat Daddy colt Global Prospector would put a different slant on things, while Wise Words will improve from her debut and completes the shortlist.
