12:00 - MEGA YEATS (3) has shown useful bumper form in the second of her two starts to date, when finishing runner-up in a listed contest at Cheltenham last month, and she looks a potentially useful recruit to hurdling. Provided her jumping holds up, this looks a good opportunity for her to make a winning start. Storm Goddess and Coded Message can provided the biggest test, but the favourite should land the odds.
12:30 - Several in-form types arrive here, including Inchcolm, who is in pursuit of a four-timer. However, the one who makes the most appeal is TRIOPAS (4), who was pulled-up on his most recent start over fences, let down by his jumping that day, but he shaped well on his chasing debut at Wincanton in January and he could well prove this time around off a handy mark with conditions to suit. Sounds of Italy is another on a roll for the Skelton brothers and is feared in an open heat.
13:00 - DIOCESE (7) makes the switch to handicap company here, along with several others, and whilst he has yet to completely fire in two starts over here, he was a three-time bumper winner in his native France and his opening mark is surely within his remit. Fellow handicap debutant No Getaway is another one worthy of a second look, whilst Hello Bertie is open to more after one start in this company.
13:35 - GET ON THE YAGER (1) was a winner at this meeting last year, coming out on top in a cracking finish to take the Rowland Meyrick, and he makes his seasonal reappearance earlier on the card this time around. This trip is a sharp step back from his spring targets, but that should suit considering he struggled for stamina in the Midlands National in March and latterly in the Scottish National at Ayr. Dan Skelton has a good record with chasers at this trip, and Get On The Yager is fancied to make a winning reappearance at a track where he has performed well at in the past.
14:10 - An interesting feature, in which preference is for LAKE VIEW LAD (2), who proved to be better than ever when winning his first big handicap at Newcastle on his seasonal reappearance at the beginning of the month. He's a very likeable sort, and considering that the Trevor Hemmings team are likely to have much loftier targets in the back of their minds, he is fancied to progress again and take this. Wakanda was second in this last year and can go close again, whilst Takingrisks and Crievehill are others to consider in an open heat.
14:45 - BECKY THE THATCHER (6) was only just beaten at Haydock Park last time out, shaping well over what turned out to be an inadequate test, and this stiffer stamina is sure to suit (revels in the mud). She can give her young claimer a win at the expense of Bordeaux Bill and Teescomponents Lad.
15:20 - EN MEME TEMPS (1) switches into handicaps after three starts in novice company, and he appeals as the sort who can take off now that he's qualified for a mark, considering that he's improved for each of his starts. He carries top-weight here, but he's fancied to have too much for these rivals after a wind operation. Lester Kris and Barrys Jack head up the opposition.
