Nick Shiambouros was on the mark yesterday when his selection Mystic Meg won. Nick returns with two selections from the superb Chester meeting...
"I think he is open to further improvement, and can give trainer Mick Channon another two-year-old winner"
Kinks can overcome a wide draw to take this historic race.
This colt beat Broken Spear in great style at Ripon last month. He made all and pulled clear to win with plenty in hand. The front two finished well ahead of the third placed finisher. This was a super effort considering he had to carry a penalty. I think he is open to further improvement, and can give trainer Mick Channon another two-year-old winner. At present he is trading at [5.9] on the exchange which is more than fair.
No Lippy is the current favourite at [2.94]. This filly made all to win a Doncaster maiden last month despite showing signs of inexperience. She is the big improver but is priced accordingly.
Chief Ironside could run well at a decent price in this maiden.
This colt put in a much improved effort when finishing fourth to Raymond Tusk at Newbury last month. He held every chance a furlong from home, but could only stay on at one pace in the closing stages. The winner looks useful, and time may tell he faced an impossible task. He is well worth an interest at [8.6] on the exchange.
John Gosden sends out favourite Argentello who is trading at [2.84] on the exchange. He caught the eye on debut when finishing second to a progressive type at Doncaster, but disappointed on his latest start. It is early to write him off and is the main danger to the selection.
