Nick Shiambouros is back with a win selection from Bath and a place advice from Kempton...
"Her dam won a race on the all-weather over a mile, but has enough speed in her pedigree to be effective over this distance"
I am going to take a chance with Katie Lee in this maiden auction.
This Camacho filly was knocked down for only 5000gns at the sales this spring. Her dam won a race on the all-weather over a mile, but has enough speed in her pedigree to be effective over this distance. Trainer Henry Candy has done very well over the years with inexpensive two-year-olds, and this race does not look particularly strong. She is fairly priced at [8.0] on the exchange.
Three Little Birds is the current favourite at [3.4]. She has the form in the book to take this, but appears to be going the wrong way based on her latest effort. Not for me.
Shadow Beauty could run well at a decent price in this interesting maiden.
This Pivotal colt was sent off as favourite on debut when finishing second to Royal Opera House at Chelmsford last December. He ran on strongly in the closing stages, but the winner was long gone. I think he has scope for further improvement, and should be backed in the place market at around [3.3] on the exchange.
Just Pires is the favourite in the win market at [2.82]. He put in a much improved effort when finishing a close second to Asaas at Windsor last month, and deserves his position at the head of the market.
