Bets Of The Day: Golden Sunrise to shine

Nick Shiambouros is back with two strong fancies from the NH meeting at Fontwell...

"I think the extra yardage will suit him, and further improvement is expected"

Back Golden Sunrise in the 14:10 at Fontwell

14:10 Fontwell - Golden Sunrise

Golden Sunrise looks like the one to be on in this novices' hurdle.

At Exeter last month he beat Mount Rushmoore in determined fashion. He took the lead at the final flight and stayed on really well to score decisively. I think the extra yardage will suit him, and further improvement is expected. In addition the Tizzard stable is in good form which is an added bonus. At present he is trading at 3.814/5 on the exchange.

Point winner Reikers Island could give the selection most to do. He was in contention when he fell two from home at Exeter last month. I am not certain he would have won, as he was just beginning to feel the strain when coming to grief. He is better than the bare form suggests, and is fairly priced at 3.613/5 on the exchange.

15:10 Fontwell - Euxton Lane

Euxton Lane should go close in this interesting contest.

This gelding put in a much improved effort when finishing second to Global Citizen at Southwell last month. He ran on strongly in the closing stages, and finished the race with good energy. The winner has since won a Grade 2 impressively at Kempton. This likeable individual is improving with racing and is fairly priced at 3.1511/5 on the exchange.

Casterly Rock is the current favourite at 2.747/4 on the exchange. He finished second in a novices' hurdle at Ludlow and is an obvious danger to the selection.
