Nick Shiambouros was out of luck yesterday when his selection Reflect Alexander finished third. Nick hopes to regain the winning thread with a selection from Kempton and one from Ripon...

19:25 Kempton - Ply
Ply should make his presence felt in his first start in handicap company.
This colt ran well on debut when finishing a closing second to Bowerman over this course in April. He was a little disappointing on his latest start at Newbury, but was clearly unsuited by the testing underfoot conditions. I think he is better than the bare form suggests and should make his mark in this interesting handicap. He is currently trading at 8.415/2 on the exchange which is just about right.
Sir Michael Stoute sends out Nathan Mayer. This gelding won a similar event at Nottingham last month. He has more on his plate today, but it would be foolish to underestimate him. He rates as the main danger and is currently trading at 4.67/2 on the exchange.
21:05 Ripon - Nathalie
Nathalie should open her account in this maiden.
This filly ran well on debut when finishing fourth to Coconut Crème at Beverley last month. She put her head down inside the final furlong, and finished the race with good energy. She looks like a typical James Fanshawe improver and should go close. At present she is trading at 3.9 on the exchange, which is more than fair.
Debutant Strong Belief merits consideration. This Cape Cross gelding was an expensive yearling purchase and comes from a good family. The stable is going well, and will have him ready to do himself justice. He is a solid second choice at 4.03/1.
